The production of television commercials has become a huge industry in the United States and growing. Milton Dubin, chairman of the board of directors of New York-based Alice Film, estimates that 25,000 full-time staff and 175,000 part-time professionals are working on the job, spending about $ 1 billion last year. The United States produces half a million such films every year, the vast majority of which are made locally. There are different numbers of people involved in the production of each commercial, some one or two, and some as many as 100 people, with costs ranging from a few dollars to $ 100,000 or more. Some of the heads of the production process, which are usually advertisers, have some ideas and then hire filmmakers, writers and musicians to make these ideas into smaller plays of no more than a minute.
