《道德经》提出了“守中”一说,第五章以天地不仁与圣人不仁为例,论及“多言数穷,不如守中”。关于“中”之含义,笔者一方面从《道德经》全文中探及“守中”之义,另一方面,在《庄子》《论语》等著作里对“中”的解读中,丰富与总结古代“中”之文化。“守中”是《道德经》内的无为之道、虚空之体和忠诚切实之意,也是《庄子》中时常谈起的齐物之理,更是儒家提倡的中庸之道,此三者和而不同,全为“守中”。
