辛亥革命后的社会秩序混乱 ,引发一些思想家对儒家伦理的思念 ,甚者如严复竟提出尊孔读经的主张。尊孔读经对社会秩序的恢复固然起到了一定的积极作用 ,但毫无疑问的是 ,这一社会思潮又引发了袁世凯的帝制自为和张勋的帝制复辟。如何看待辛亥后尊孔读经思潮的兴起与实际效果 ,学者们一直是仁者见仁 ,智者见智。本文以严复为中心探讨了尊孔读经思潮发生的背景与原因 ,认为尊孔读经与两次帝制复辟有联系 ,也有区别 ,不能将帝制复辟的原罪完全归咎于严复发起的尊孔读经运动。
The chaotic social order after the Revolution of 1911 triggered some thinkers’ thoughts on Confucian ethics. For instance, Yan Fu actually proposed the idea of reading Confucian classics. While studying Confucianism in order to restore social order certainly played a positive role, there is no doubt that this social thought triggered the monarchy of Yuan Shikai and the restoration of Zhang Xun’s monarchy. How to treat the rise of the Confucian classics after Xin Hai and the actual results, scholars have always been benevolent see the benevolence, the wise see the wisdom. This paper, based on Yan Fu, explores the background and causes of the Confucianism study of Confucianism. It holds that there is a connection between the Confucian Classics of Confucianism and the two monarchies, and that the original sin of the restoration of the monarchy can not be completely attributed to Yan Fu’s reading of the Confucian classics.
