利用云南的大穗大粒种培育新的大穗品种,以期在单产上有一个新的突破,这一工作,在省内省外都已开展有年并取得一些初步成绩,现在应该是好好总结一下这方面的经验和探讨这一育种方向的时候了。本刊曾先后刊载过一些有关文章,这篇也是其中之一,目的是希望引起省内外同志的讨论,报道更多自己实践的结果。特别希望在今年工作中多注意以下一些方面: (一)最近我省中北部育成了一些大穗大粒的材料,这些新品系有抗寒性较好,穗型和株型也比南部地方种好些的特点,用它们作杂交亲本的效果如何?能否使大粒和抗寒获得一定的统一? (二)大穗种一般空秕率较高,它们和一些结实率高的品种杂交,结实率是否有所提高? (三)粒重上的超亲现象,可否从谷粒的长、宽、厚和比重这几方面的互补关系进行分析,以提供亲本选择的依据。 (四)高产大穗种的株型,看来很可能是既不同于日本种和国际稻,也不同于地方种的另外一种型式。现在有人提中高(自然高度不超过90—100厘米),叶子宽、短、厚、直、卷等概念。到底比较理想的株型如何,应该大家来总结。 (五)大穗种要达到高产,良种良法应该配套,这是省内同志的共同看法,这方面的经验还要认真总结,本刊也将选登一些有关试验结果。
