With the grinding method,20 endophyte strains were firstly isolated from the Alhagi pseudalhagi Desv stem and leaf, one species of herbal plant is grown in Xinjiang regoin, and a strain---XJAS-AB-11 with the strongest antagonistic activity to crop pathogen was selected. The XJAS-AB-11 was preliminary identified as one kind of Bacillus sp. based on the morphological observation and the analysis of physiological and biochemical characteristics and 16S rDNA sequence. After the expanding culture of the antagonistic strain,a preliminary study on its me-tabolites was conducted and the active monomer C2 and H2-2 were respectively isolated from its active site with the inhibitory effect by means of method of silica gel column chromatography and TLC. The compounds of C2 and H2-2 were proved to be flavonoids through the analysis of ultraviolet spectroscopy,NMR and mass spectrometry. The endophyte from Alhagi pseudalhagi Desv is rich in antimicrobial active substances and also is a potential resource for development of natural antibacterial drug.
