As a multi-ethnic country, the United States is faced with the special language education needs of many ethnic minority children and the thorny issue of raising academic performance. The rise of pluralism in the 1960s called for the federal government to prescribe policies on language education. Each unique language and culture should be respected, recognized, and given fair protection of rights. Therefore, multiculturalism provides a perspective of cultural perspective for the study of American language education policy, and facilitates researchers to explore the status quo and development of American language education policy from an ideological point of view.
