Traditional Chinese medicines are rich in resources and have a wide range of sources. The habits of using drugs are also inconsistent throughout the country. This has led to difficulties in the identification of traditional Chinese medicines, especially the identification of powdered medicinal herbs and proprietary Chinese medicines. In order to solve this problem and ensure the safe and effective use of medicines and the quality of proprietary Chinese medicines, the Department of Pharmacognosy of Nanjing Pharmaceutical University cooperated with the Institute of Physical and Chemical Testing to compile a computerized microscopic identification search program for traditional Chinese medicine powders. Preliminary results have been obtained. The computer used was an American CROMEMCO microcomputer. Based on the microscopic characteristics of 380 commonly used botanical medicinal powders, BA-S1C language was used to compile the search program. 60 calcium oxalate crystals, starch granules, oil cells, stone cells, fibers, catheters, and pollen grains were selected to be used in medicinal powders. The presence and absence of tissues and after-presences are the distinguishing features. When using, first carefully observe the microscopic characteristics of the powder of the unknown medicinal material through the optical microscope, and fill in the code card according to the specified identification characteristics of the 3 codes, then start the program to start the operation, input the code of the experiment input from the keyboard, the computer immediately Automatically search, display and print the names and medicinal parts of known medicinal materials that are consistent with and similar to the characteristics of unknown medicinal powders. For very similar medicinal materials, what characteristics can be given are inconsistent for further experimental verification.
