Concrete mix design is a fundamental issue in the overall quality management of concrete works. The primary problem of the mix design is the determination of the test mix strength. The test intensity of concrete was determined in China from the mid-1960s to the end of the 1970s according to the regulations (GBJ10-65) applied at that time, and it has been determined by increasing the design index by 10 to 15% in concrete construction. The method is relatively simple. However, this method is mainly based on the statistical results of experimental data and is not linked to quality control during construction.
