The logo of the International Year of Forests 2011 aims to convey the thrust of “forests for the people” and commends the important role that people play in the sustainable management and protection of the world’s forests. Whether part or whole, the logos showcase the multiple functions that forests play in almost every area of our lives. The forest surrounds us, helps us, nurtures us, protects us, educates us and delights us, even if we take it for granted and never consider them.
