Rachel Whittaker was born in London in 1963. She studied painting and sculpture at Brighton Institute of Technology and Slade College of Art. Whiterred’s “House” was completed in the fall of 1993 and was dismantled in January 1994. The “House” is made in a terrace in the East End of London by spraying liquid concrete into the hollow shell of a building before its outer walls are removed, attracting tens of thousands of tourists and locating in the streets of the country The media and the House of Commons have fierce arguments. This Victorian terraced house is also known as one of the greatest public sculptures of 20th-century British artists. Whiter Reid also won the British Turner Prize in 1993 and was the first woman to receive the award.
