人称“陆地孤岛”的防川,位于祖国东北边陲图们江的下游,由于江水常年冲涮,这块十四平方公里的国土与内地失去了联系,“孤岛”上的军民往来要向邻国借“道”,因此这里也就成了远近闻名的“借道川”。1982年,国家投资在江水冲刷处修筑了一条路堤,路堤的东边是俄罗斯的滨海边疆区,西边是隔江相望的朝鲜,这条路成了“孤岛”官兵的巡逻道,从这条道上也传出了许多“孤岛”军民保卫边疆、建设边疆鲜为人知的佳话。
