以生命科学研究为重点的高等院校及科研单位,实验动物环境设施建设规模大、水平高,不少设施已超过2×104m2.在实验动物环境设施建设中应用绿色能源是今后发展的方向.利用净化空气单向流气流方式代替传统的乱流气流方式配备IVC笼具的做法可以减少能源消耗；利用蓄积雨水在空调机组冷热交换等非生产用水时使用可以减少淡水消耗量；利用风塔为屏障系统实验动物环境设施非净化区送风降温可以节约大量能源.
