1949年,随军南下途中,亲聆陈毅将军一次报告,至今历历在目,难以忘怀.1949年初,党中央为了解放全中国,发起了百万雄师横渡长江的强大攻势.渡江前,从各个老解放区抽调干部,组成了区党委、地委、县委班子,与部队一起过江.我们到达合肥不久,4月12日地委通知大队以上负责人去听陈毅将军作报告.下午5点半钟,大家集中在“合肥电影院”.其实,是个稻草搭起来的棚子.这也是我们第一次在大屋子里听报告.快到7点钟了,陈将军在牛树才等领导同志的陪同下,走进了会场.我们参加会的人都不约而同地站起来鼓掌欢迎.陈毅走上讲台把外套一脱,向旁边凳子上一扔;把帽子摘下来在桌子上一放.大家起先认为陈将军文化水平高,不知有多大的架子,没成想他是那样的随便和朴实,于是引起全场的鼓掌声和笑声.
