人类发明农业至今已有超过一万年的时间,农民也是人类历史上最悠久,最重要的职业之一。在古埃及的壁画中,我们就看到过描绘农民耕作的图像。古埃及农民在富饶的尼罗河畔进行耕种,为整个古埃及文明的发展壮大提供了物质基础,而狩猎、采集等更原始的方法是远远无法满足一个强大文明的巨大人口基数的。农业技术的不断发展和改进,为历史上的各个文明带来了更加充足、更加营养的食物,为一切其它社会活动打下了基础,但是农民的社会地位一直都是比较低的。而在各国各个时期的艺术家的油画作品中,留存下了不少经典的农民形象。这些形象虽然不是中外艺术史中的主流,但对我们当代人来说,他们有时往往具有与耶稣、皇帝等形象不相上下的艺术表现力和感染力。最为中国人熟知的油画中的农
Humans have invented agriculture for over 10,000 years, and peasants are also one of the oldest and most important occupations in human history. In ancient Egyptian murals, we have seen images depicting farmer farming. The cultivation of ancient Egyptian farmers by the rich Nile River provided the material basis for the development and growth of the entire ancient Egyptian civilization. The more primitive methods such as hunting and collecting were far from meeting the huge population base of a mighty civilization. The continuous development and improvement of agricultural technology has brought more adequate and nutritious food to all civilizations in history and laid the foundation for all other social activities. However, the social status of peasants has always been relatively low. In the oil paintings of artists of various periods in various countries, many classic images of peasants have been preserved. Although these images are not the mainstream in Chinese and foreign art history, for our contemporary people, they often have the artistic expressiveness and contagion that are comparable to the images of Jesus and the Emperor.
