红花是菊科一年生草本植物,高40～90厘米,其花有通经、破瘀、生新、活血、消肿、止痛等作用。原产非洲、亚洲南部。我国以新疆、河南、四川为主产区,我省各地都有种植,但供不应求。红花种类很多,我省种植的有无刺和有刺两种。无刺的棵矮、杈少、抗病力弱、产量低、成熟早、便于采花,可适当密植;有刺的棵高杈多、抗病力强、产量高、成熟晚,采花时有些扎手。
