元宝枫(平基槭),槭科槭属,落叶乔木,高10～15米,树冠呈伞形或倒广卵形。树皮灰黄色,浅纵裂;小枝浅土黄色;叶掌状5裂,个别3裂,裂片端渐尖。元宝枫系弱阳性,耐半阴,喜生于阴坡及山沟温凉气候和湿润而排水良好肥沃土壤,有一定耐旱力,但不耐涝;有抗风雪能力;亦耐烟尘及有害气体。繁殖方法主要用播种,也可扦插。主产黄河中、下游各省,东北南部、江苏北部、安徽南部也有少量分布。
