国际应用语言学协会(AILA—Association Internationale de Linguistique Appliqu~e)已经有二十多年历史。美国应用语言学协会自从1977年创立至今也有六年。可是,对于应用语言学的范围仍众说纷纭,莫衷一是。美国应用语言学盼会发起人之一、南加州大学语言学系教授卡普兰(Robert B.Kaplan)编辑的《论应用语言学的范围》(On砌Scope可Applied Linguis—tics,198l,Newbury House Publishers,Inc.)集录了当代著名应用语言学家的有关观点和论文。全书不到一百页(英文),但读者可以看到有关应用语言学范围的讨论的端倪。
The International Association of Applied Linguistics (AILA-Association Internationale de Linguistique Appliqu e) has more than twenty years of history. The American Association of Applied Linguistics has also been six years since its founding in 1977. However, there are still many different opinions on the scope of applied linguistics. One of the initiators of American Applied Linguistics is expected to be co-sponsored by Robert B. Kaplan, a professor of linguistics at the University of Southern California, on “Applied Linguistics,” 1981, Newbury House Publishers, Inc.) captures the views and dissertations of contemporary well-known applied linguists. The book is less than a hundred pages in English, but readers can see a clue about the scope of applied linguistics.
