Objective: To investigate the effect of L-arginine on human vascular endothelial function. Methods: In-hospital brachial artery endothelial function tests were performed in high-resolution ultrasound. Flow-mediated changes in brachial artery internal diameter (FMD%) were used to assess endothelial function, nitroglycerin-induced vasodilation (NMD% Used to reflect vascular smooth muscle function. Thirty-eight in-patients with endothelial dysfunction of brachial artery were divided into two groups: L-Arg (group A) and oral L-Arg (group B). The two groups were reviewed after two weeks of treatment FMD% and NMD%. The changes of FMD% and NMD% before and after treatment were compared. At the same time, the difference of endothelial function between two groups was compared. Results: The FMD% of two groups before treatment was significantly higher than before treatment (P <0.01), while there was no significant difference between the two groups before and after treatment (P> 0.05). Conclusion: Both intravenous drip and oral L-Arg have the effect of improving the endothelial function of brachial artery, and the effect is not obviously different.
