Objective: To observe the influence of moxonidine on carotid sinus baroreceptor reflex. Methods: The left carotid sinus perfusion method was used to observe the effects of moxonidine on the pressure reflex function parameters in anesthetized rats. Perfusion of femoral artery was performed by constant flow, and the change of perfusion pressure was recorded to determine the influence of moxonidine on vascular resistance. Results: Moxonidine treatment at 32 and 100 μmol·L -1 shifted the carotid sinus pressure reflex function curve to the right upward, and the maximal slope of the curve and the decrease of reflex average arterial pressure decreased, suggesting that moxonidine could inhibit baroreflex Inhibit effect. Efax 100μmol·L -1 completely blocked the effect of moxonidine 100μmol·L -1. Moxonidine significantly increased vascular resistance. Conclusion: Moxonidine has a direct inhibitory effect on carotid sinus pressure reflex, which may be due to the contraction of the sinus wall.
