前言我国基准地震台担负着全国4级以上、全球6级以上地震的监视观测和为科学工作提供完整可靠的基础资料的任务。二十多年来发挥了很大的作用。随着地震预报实践及地震学研究的深入,现有的基准台观测系统无论从观测方式、记录范围、资料提供的媒介等方面均已不适应现代信息处理技术的要求,为此,国家地震局于1978年向我所提出了“基准地震台现代地震观测系统”的重点科学技术项目这一课题。
