Most of the buildings of Angkor’s monuments are in ruins, but the magnificent scale of Angkor’s monuments and its architectural art are still amazing. Archaeologists called it the Great Four Wonders of the East with the Great Wall of China, the Egyptian pyramids, and Borobudur in Indonesia. In 1992, the UNESCO World Heritage Committee listed Angkor monuments as World Cultural Heritage.
