Olympic posters are the embodiment of sports, culture and art. They have high historical and artistic value and are highly praised by Pierre de Coubertin, the father of modern Olympics. Since the first official poster for the Stockholm Olympics in 1912, organizers of all previous Olympic Games have created one or more posters to promote cities and set a common practice. Olympic posters cover the Olympic torch, mascots, venues, events, athletes, host cities and other aspects related to the Olympic Games. Olympic posters convey a variety of information in a variety of visual languages as a record of the times. Posters preserve our world in a visual manner and leave a visual archive of sports and arts, commerce and culture for mankind. Official Poster for the 2012 London Olympic Games In the process of posters creation, London Organizing Committee for Organizing Organizations (OOCL) and the Tate Gallery in England invited artists to participate and selected Fiona classes from more than 100 candidate artists
