1980年3—4月陪同丁国瑜在美国进行“中国地震构造及地震预报”的讲学访问期间,得与美国一些同行接触、讨论,并阅读了P.B.King等人编制的有关美国大陆的区域构造图件,使我们对美国大陆的构造概貌、基本特征以及与地震构造有关的问题有了些认识,同时与中国大陆地震的情况相比较,也产生了一些联想和疑问,这里简要地罗列出来,作为向国内的介绍和讨论。
