上海解放后,新政权面临着一系列严重的社会问题,如:妓女、舞女、各类妓院仍然大量存在,流氓、匪患、反革命分子猖獗,广大妇女就业困难等。为了巩固新政权,稳定社会秩序,上海市民主妇女联合会在中国共产党的领导下积极行动,为社会治理发挥了重要的作用。历史证明,市民主妇联是治愈社会沉疴旧疾的一支重要力量,是稳定社会秩序的基础因素之一,是中国共产党进行社会动员的重要帮手。 After the liberation of Shanghai, the new regime was facing a series of serious social problems such as prostitutes and dancing girls, various types of brothels still in large numbers, rogue gangsters, banditry, rampant counterrevolutionaries and the general employment difficulties of women. In order to consolidate the new regime and stabilize the social order, the Shanghai Democratic Women’s Federation took active actions under the leadership of the Communist Party of China and played an important role in social governance. History has proved that the Municipal Democratic League is an important force in curing the old social illness and is one of the basic factors in stabilizing social order. It is also an important helper for the CPC in social mobilization.
