Dr. Jane Goodall is a famous specialist1 in studying wild animals， especially in chimps2. She is a kind， modest and outspoken3 woman.
简·古道尔博士是一位著名的野生动物研究专家，尤其是在研究黑猩猩方面。她是一位善良、谦逊而又坦诚的女性。
In her childhood， she came across a book called Tarzan and Dr. Doolittle by chance. Jane was greatly inspired4 by it and hoped to study animals one day. At that time， women were often looked down on and only her mother was for her decision. In the 1960s， Jane moved off to Africa to study chimps， where she spent more than 25 years in observing5 and recording their daily activities and fully understood chimps’ behaviour.
在她還是个孩子的时候，她偶然发现了一本名为《泰山和杜利特尔博士》的书。简受到极大的鼓舞，希望有一天能研究动物。在那个时代，女性经常被歧视，只有她母亲支持她。在20世纪60年代，简动身去非洲研究黑猩猩。她花了超过25年的时间观察和记录黑猩猩的日常活动，终于完全弄懂了黑猩猩的行为。
Setting up several organizations6 and taking up a campaign7 to protect animals have made her famous all over the world. In recent years， Jane has given speeches to call on younger people to take part in her project “Root and Shoot”.
她先后成立了几个组织，并发起了一项保护动物的活动，因此名闻天下。近年来，简还先后在世界各地演讲，呼吁年青一代参加“根与芽”的活动。
