晚清时期辜鸿铭的翻译活动包括典籍英译,或用英文创译的方式来对外译介中国文化。本文借助布迪厄社会学理论的场域、习性、资本等概念,将辜鸿铭的跨文化传播翻译行为置于具体的历史文化语境中,基于其典籍英译作品,深入考察辜鸿铭的中国文化观的形成和发展轨迹,进而在当时的历史条件下,重寻辜鸿铭的译者文化身份痕迹,追溯其心路历程,探究辜鸿铭成功传播中国文化的深层动因。
During the late Qing Dynasty, Ku Hung-ming’s translation activities included the translation of classical Chinese books or the translation of English into Chinese culture. Based on Bourdieu’s sociological theory of field, habit and capital, this article places Gu Hongming’s transcultural communication in a specific historical and cultural context. Based on his works of English translation, And trace the trace of Ku Hong-ming’s translator’s cultural identities and tracing back the journey of his mentality under the historical conditions of that time to explore the deep motivation of Gu Hong-ming’s successful dissemination of Chinese culture.
