比利·怀尔德是一位导演,但他更看中自己的编剧身份。在洛杉矶Westwood皮埃尔兄弟纪念墓园里,比利·怀尔德的墓碑上刻着几行字:“I am a writer,But then,nobody’s perfect”。怀尔德的写作早在维也纳做小报记者时便开始了,没去好莱坞闯荡之前,他创作的剧本很多都已经被拍成了电影。
