Coal’s solidity coefficient and initial rate of gas release are important indexes for predicting the danger of coal and gas outburst. The paper first introduces the principle and procedure of measuring the solidity coefficient and initial velocity of coal gas emission in laboratory, then analyzes the influential factors of laboratory determination according to its measuring principle and procedure and practical experience.
