This article is a recount of anecdotes about the soldiers of the Allied forces and their enemies against each other, as well as the bloodshed and chaos on Day D. Eisenhower, the top commander of the Allied Forces on the D, was hiding in a forest three miles outside of Portsmouth. He curled up to command a powerful force in his poorly equipped 3-ton semi-trailer. He asked himself to be as close as possible to the landing beach. A few days earlier he ordered the organization of a small, elite combat command - a few tents for his cronies, and several trailers, including the one he lived in. He joked that his trailer was “my circus truck.”
