Objective To evaluate efficacy of three directed traction ( olecranon skeletal traction on the horizontal, forearm traction on the upwards and humerus traction downwards) for extention type of supracondylar fractures humerus in children. Methods The efficacy and treatment of three directed traction on 25 cases of extention type of supracondylar fractures of humerus in children were analyzed retrospectively. Results The efficacy was satisfactory in the time of follow up; All displacements of fractures were be corrected gradually and none replacement in three directed traction therapy time; Elbow joint function were fine after callus growth through 2 weeks of plaster fixation. Conclusion The three directed traction is a good method for treatment in extention type of supracondylar fractures of humerus in children. This method is simpleness, credibility and reduction stabilization.
