①Linda is a pretty girl. No matter where she goes, she will attract people’s attention. But she is too poor to buy nice clothes.琳达是个漂亮的女孩，走到哪里都会招来艳羡的目光，可是她家很穷，没有钱买好衣服。
②A kind female boss in a tailor’s shop makes a dress for her with the redremaining cloth. 一位善良的裁缝店老板娘，利用剩余的红布给琳达做了一条裙子。
③Linda gives the red dress a whirl. 琳达穿上红裙子转起来。
④The children along the street are dancing around her. But Linda would not let them touch her dress in case of making it dirty. 沿街的孩子们都围着琳达跳起舞，可是琳达怕他们弄脏裙子，不许他们碰。
⑤One day, the female boss in the tailor’s shop is ill and asks Linda to look after her. 一天，裁缝店老板娘生病了，请求琳达照顾。
⑥But Linda leaves the sick female boss and goes dancing. 但是，琳达丢下生病的裁缝店老板娘，跳舞去了。
⑦The next day, people hold a funeral for the kind female boss. Linda cries because she went dancing instead of looking after her. 第二天，人们为那位好心的裁缝店老板娘举行了葬礼。琳达哭了，因为她没有好好照顾她而去跳舞了。
⑧From then on, Linda takes care of the children without parents. Linda comes to know that a pretty appearance is useless and a kindheart is the most important. 从此，琳达照顾那些没有父母的孤儿。琳达终于明白外表再美也没有用，心灵的美才是最重要的。
