新街口老龄委业余京剧队,原来由十几位京剧爱好者自发凑在一起,在胡同里拉拉唱唱。通过他们老几位的振兴京剧的愿望和新街口街道办事处的支持,迁到新开胡同内文化站活动。不久,来唱的、来听的人逐次增多,文化活动站坐不下了,他们又迁到现在的活动地点,新街口社区服务中心,建立起“新街口老龄委业余京剧队”。目前这个队已填表的队员达百人,各行当演员齐全,文武场面整齐。这个京剧队从无到有,从小到大,三易场地活动。由此可以看出京剧艺术有它的强大的群众基础,能在广
