This paper summarizes the feasibility of household application of rainwater harvesting system, reasonable design and construction methods, water quality and socio-economic issues in various countries. At the same time, based on the case studies in Asia, Africa and Australia, some major difficulties and constraints encountered in the concrete construction are discussed. The authors surveyed strategies and methods for successful project planning, implementation and evaluation, as well as specific costing, sources of investment and water quality for different types of systems.
