This meeting was jointly sponsored by China National Natural Science Foundation of China, China Geological Society Structural Geology Professional Committee and Precambrian Geological Commission and commissioned by Jiangxi Provincial Department of Geology and Mineral Resources and China University of Geosciences. The meeting was conducted on the field examinations in Dexing, Jiangxi Province on October 26-29, 1998 and was held in Shangrao on the 30th for an all-day discussion. A total of 84 delegates attended the meeting and they came from 32 units in 11 provinces and municipalities including Jiangsu, Anhui, Zhejiang, Jiangxi, Hubei, Hunan, Guangdong, Guizhou, Sichuan, Shanghai and Beijing.
