His socialist economic and academic views not only attracted the attention of all countries in the world during the 1930s, but also had an extremely significant impact on the economic reforms in the Soviet Union and Eastern Europe in the 1950s and 1960s. Lange began to contact Marx and Engels in high school. In 1918, when he was a 14-year-old boy, he made a speech commemorating the centenary of Marx’s birth. After entering Poznan University, he chose economics and began his career in economic theory.
