2011年4月6日至20日,应沈阳市文物考古研究所之约,吉林大学边疆考古研究中心和沈阳市文物考古研究所共同合作成立沈阳市旧石器考古调查队,对沈阳市进行旧石器时代考古调查。希望可以发现旧石器地点,从而填补沈阳市旧石器考古的空白,将沈阳市的历史由新石器时代向前追溯到旧石器时代。首先选择康平和法库两县进行了为期15天的旧石器考古调查,在秀水河和辽河的Ⅱ、Ⅲ级阶地上,共发现旧石器地点14
