四川省江安县为伏令夏橙外销基地县之一,现已栽植夏橙100万株以上。为了不断提高夏橙品质,该县坚持选育良种夏橙。这个县自1974年以来,在中国农科院柑桔所、西南农学院和四川农学院有关科技人员的帮助下,选种工作取得不少进展,初步确定了一批夏橙优良单株,建立了良种母本园,同时进行高接繁育和品比试验,以便尽快取得子代可靠数据。
