在水田上翻地,由於水田排水不良,排水较晚,水线和尿坑地又多,很容易陷犂陷车,不能正常作业。为了克服这一困难,在领导的鼓励与支持下,经过机车组集体钻研,发挥了大家的智慧,将拖拉机和五铧犁的行走部份稍加改装,使水田翻地得以顺利进行。SL-50/55拖拉机震动很厉害,在洼湿地区很容易陷车,从事水田作业时陷车更为严重。但这种拖拉机的链轨板很平整,而且是整个一块,上面钻有两个安装抓地板的孔眼,这就给改装带来有利的条件。根据盘山农场链轨、犂轮加宽的经验,和ДТ-55拖拉机链轨的构造,我们用长55公分,宽14-16公分,厚6-8公分的木板,按照链轨凹凸面,制成加宽木抓地板,用两个螺丝固定在链轨板上,每隔三块链轨板,安装一块加宽木抓地板(图1)。这样就增加了链轨接地面积,减少机车对土壤的压力。木板伸出两旁,形如齿牙,增加链轨的附着力。改装后的机车,在相当湿润的土地上——一般机车不能通过的土地——也能顺利通过,不发生打滑或陷车。
