HP recently introduced the HP 75000 Series 90 Modular SONET / SDH Analyzer. SONET refers to the Synchronous Optical Network, which is the North American standard for new optical fiber transmission systems; SDH stands for Synchronous Digital Hierarchy, an international standard that is similar to SONET standards developed by CCITT. The HP7500090 Series Modular Analyzer tests telecom equipment in SONET or SDH at test speeds up to 622Mb / s. The analyzer is based on industry-standard VXI bus hardware and consists of a series of C-size VXI modules and a PC. Because each module focuses on one side of a SONET / SDH test, the analyzer can be combined in a variety of ways to suit a variety of special measurements
