荷泽古称曹州,历来有“曹州牡丹甲天下”的佳话。依着“谷雨三朝看牡丹”乡谚的指导,近些年,我也有两回在牡丹盛开的季节入园赏花的机会,姹紫嫣红的场面,真个是终生难忘。但是,来去匆匆,很有些不满足,总想到村中看看,找那些种花的人谈谈。今年6月,我终于有机会采访了著名的花乡赵楼村。因为不是花开的季节,没有盛大花会的种种热闹,倒能够细细地了解花乡的风情和花农的生活。根据传说,荷泽地方栽培牡丹,就是从现今赵楼这一带开始的,但最早的花村并不是赵楼。牡丹之乡的多数花农,都是明代初年从山西洪桐县移民过来的。今赵楼村北,有一个并不十分显眼的土丘,相传是古桂陵之战的战场,俗称卢堌堆,也叫鲁山。从山西洪桐移民过来的人首先在这一带种植花木,他们先后开辟出牡丹园、木瓜园、柿子园、山楂园,创建了周花园、毛胡同、王梨庄、张花园等几个 Heze said the ancient state of Caozhou, has always been “Caozhou Peony A world ” story.
