Aims: To explore the processing differences between affirmative and negative words in high and low critical thinking individuals, and to infer the differences in their frequency of use. Methods: A total of 300 college students were surveyed using the Critical Thinking Disposition Inventory-Chinese Version (CTDI-CV). High and low scores were determined on the basis of 27% The group of critical thinking tendency and the group of low critical thinking tendency adopted Stroop task variation to compare the differences of word processing between the two groups. Results: Low-critical thinking tendencies reflect longer on the color naming of affirmative words. CONCLUSIONS: Individuals with low critical thinking tendencies have a higher level of automatic processing of affirmations than those with high critical thinking tendencies, which may be related to the fact that individuals with low critical thinking tend to monitor and regulate cognitive processing less often, The opinions of oneself and others are often associated with positive attitudes.
