应美国新英格兰地区记者协会邀请,中国新闻代表团一行4人于6月15日至7月1日赴美进行了为期15天的访问。新英格兰地区记协设在波士顿市,有六七名工作人员,出版一份记协通讯报,负责全区六个州100多家日报、600多家周报的协调和联系,组织评选每年的好新闻作品,安排记者到外地、外国访问,接待外地、外国来访的记者,组织广告,经营一些新闻用品等。我们先后到纽约、华盛顿、波士顿等城市和十几个州访问了《波士顿环球报》、
At the invitation of the New England Journalists Association, four members of the Chinese news delegation went to the United States for a 15-day visit from June 15 to July 1. The New England Journalists’ Association, based in Boston, has 67 staff members and publishes a press release notifying and coordinating with more than 100 daily newspapers and 600 weekly newspapers in six states of the region to organize an annual selection of good Press works, arranging press visits to foreign countries, visiting foreign countries, receiving foreign correspondents from other places and foreign countries, organizing advertisements, and running some news items.
