Mainland young and middle-aged scholars reflect on the May Fourth thought. Such a reflection has positive significance, only hate meeting too late. Reflections, there is also a popular view: the intersection of Chinese and Western thought in May Fourth, conservatives and activists were instrumental in English, France, radical advocacy from France favored by the activists, from the British conservative doctrine Bologists welcome. Based on this reasoning, naturally despising France, advocating Britain, it seems that the British intellectuals are conservative gentlemen, French mostly frivolous activists. Five years ago, I myself was one such point of view and tried to sort out the influence of the French left-wing tradition on the Chinese modern history of ideas with such an understanding. I refer to this source as the “French disease”: a good word of revolution, a quick uprising, and the fact that there is this element in the blood of the ideology of modern China, so far it has not yet been elucidated.
