光突发交换(OBS)网络是一种有望实现小粒度、动态光交换的新型光通信网络结构,OBS边缘节点的性能分析与硬件实现对于OBS网络的实用化具有重要意义。以NS-2软件为基础,设计并实现了针对OBS网络的仿真平台,对由3个核心节点和6个边缘节点构成的OBS网络的运行情况(包括路由选择、突发包汇聚、资源利用率等)进行了仿真。同时,以现场可编程门阵列(FPGA)为硬件平台,设计并实现了OBS网络边缘节点的基本功能(包括数据分组和控制分组生成、资源预留协议的实现等)。仿真结果验证了OBS网络在网络时延和吞吐量方面的性能,而硬件平台的测试结果验证了OBS边缘节点的实用性。
Optical burst switching (OBS) network is a new type of optical communication network structure expected to achieve small granularity and dynamic optical switching. The performance analysis and hardware implementation of OBS edge nodes are of great significance to the practical application of OBS network. Based on the NS-2 software, a simulation platform for OBS network is designed and implemented. The OBS network composed of 3 core nodes and 6 edge nodes (including routing, burst aggregation, resource utilization Etc.) were simulated. At the same time, the basic functions of OBS network edge node (including data packet and control packet generation, implementation of resource reservation protocol, etc.) are designed and implemented based on field programmable gate array (FPGA) hardware platform. The simulation results verify the performance of OBS network in terms of network latency and throughput. The hardware platform test results verify the practicality of OBS edge nodes.
