唐代是我国封建社会高度繁荣的时期,在政治、经济和社会文化等领域都取得了巨大成就。尤为令人瞩目的是唐代妇女的社会地位较前有了很大提高,从而使男尊女卑、严重失衡的封建礼教的天平稍趋平衡。纵观整个封建社会,我们不能不为唐代妇女人性的相对自由和复苏而慨叹。唐代妇女之所以如此,是与李唐王朝的礼法较为松弛、统治者压抑山东旧士族的影响、民族大融合的历史背景、李唐王室的胡化程度较深及武则天提高妇女地位的影响等因素密不可分。
