周蕾作为一位在欧美学界久负盛名的文化研究学者,其研究内容涵盖中国现当代文学研究、华语电影研究、族裔研究、后殖民研究和女性主义研究等多个领域。她的中国研究从西化的“中国性”、西方汉学家对中国的凝视空间、流散的华裔学者与西方学院的关系等方面出发,关注“他者”被他者化、“土著”被土著化、“中国”被中国化这一阅读过程中的文化政治性。本文以周蕾论著的中国研究为对象,从文化政治的视角,观照周蕾在性别、视觉性、身份和学术四个方面的政治性解读,并通过她的中国研究在海内外不同的接受情况来审视这一学术现象,由此展现了当前多元文化语境下,跨文化阐释依然存有的极大困境。
As a famous scholar of cultural studies in Europe and the United States, Zhou Lei covers many fields such as Chinese modern and contemporary literary studies, Chinese film studies, ethnic studies, postcolonial studies and feminist studies. Her Chinese studies focused on the “otherness” of Westernization, Western sinologists’ perspectives on China, the relationship between Chinese scholars who have been dispersed and the Western Academy, Indigenous “is indigenous, ” China "is Chinese culture in the reading process of cultural and political. This article takes Zhou Lei’s work on Chinese studies as an object. From the perspective of culture and politics, this essay looks at Zhou Lei’s political interpretation of four aspects: gender, visual identity, status and academic. Through her study of China, To examine this academic phenomenon, thus showing the current multi-cultural context, cross-cultural interpretation of the great plight still exist.
