辐射育种是近几年来一项新的育种技术,它具有突变频率高,变异普广,选择范围大的优点,适用于改良提高良种某些经济状况,其方法也比较简单。目前农作物育种上已有较大范围的应用,而且效果显著,但应用在桑树育种上目前尚少,其效应也还认识不一。为了探索桑树辐射育种这一新技术,提高育种效率,创造桑树新品种类型,我所于1973年用广东荆桑做亲本,开展了桑树辐射育种的研究,经过几年来的研究和观察,在10000伦琴处理区发现了一个符合选种目标的新类型,暂定名辐桑10号。
