已研究过用汞电极作指示电极,用EDTA作滴定剂,测定各种金属离子的电位滴定法。利用控制酸度的办法,还可连续滴定稳定常数相差较大的金属离子混合物。但EDTA络合物稳定常数极相近的金属离子混合物(如Ca~(2+)、Mg~(2+)离子及Cu~(2+)、Zn~(2+)离子等),不能用控制酸度法分别测定。用分离或掩蔽法分步滴定,操作较烦,准确度亦不够高。因此寻求简便、准确的方法,测定此类混合物,具有理论和实际意义。
