文章通过对当代世界市场经济运行体制中,各发达国家覆盖全国乃至全球的商会团体组织网络状况及所发挥的国家政权机关不可替代的重要作用的考察,指出自公元1650年法国马塞第一个近代工商业资本家团体——商会,产生二个半世纪后,20世纪初的近代中国也陆续组建了以西方商会为蓝本,以中华全国商会联合会为总首脑,以沪、津、京、汉、穗、宁、渝、苏州、奉天等商会为区域枢纽,覆盖全国城乡的商会组织网。在20世纪前半期的前30余年间,对于调控近代中国市场和社会现代化,曾发挥了至关重要的作用。当代中国加入世贸组织已指日可待,构建并完善按照国际惯例运作、与世界市场密接的具有中国特色的社会主义市场体系,已迫在眉睫,而且是解决长期困扰我国市场运行中各种弊端的根本途径。
