MicroRNAs are a class of non-coding small RNAs of about 22nt in length. Post-transcriptional regulation affects the growth and development of animals and plants. The key to studying microRNAs is to predict the target genes. Machine learning-based target gene prediction methods are favored by researchers due to their low cost, ease of operation and advantages in data mining. This article will introduce the commonly used methods of target gene prediction based on machine learning.
